Arabic Girl Baby Names

This is a collection of baby girl names from Arabia or Arabian names along with their meanings. Arabic boy names are also part of this site but have a seperate page, along with their meanings. Arabic is spoken by over 300 million people across the globe and as a language, generates a number of unique arabic baby names. Many of the names relate to prophets and the holy book of the Quaran. Arabia of course, isn't a country but an area located in Southwest Asia at the junction of Africa and Asia and an important part of the Middle East. The Arabic names in use in this area have now spread over the world following immigration, emigration and stangely, to the amount of wars fought in the region.

The Arabic baby names below are now commonly found in both Eastern and Western countries and although sometimes referred to as Muslim baby names this is not quite accurate. Many do relate to the Muslim faith, but many have also been changed or simply evolved into what you see below. These popular Arabic baby names are for girl or female names, for boys names please see the drop down menu at the top of the page or follow this direct link to male or boy arabic names.

Traditionally, Arabic baby names were composed of a highly traditional long naming system, reflecting both religious affiliations and caste designations. However, in more modern times, the style more commonly used closely resembles a first, middle, and last name or surname. Often families will compromise between the "old ways" and the "new" by mixing the names of prophets, names combined with Asmaul Husna (Names of God), names from history, and the traditional or modern names.
