English Girl Baby Names

This is a collection of names from England. The English names on this pages concentrates on girls names. Mainly first names, or Christian names as they are known in some countries, but their are some family or surnames also.

England is the largest and most populated country of the United Kingdom, occupying most of the southern two-thirds of the island of Great Britain. It shares land borders with fellow UK countries Scotland, to the north, and Wales, to the west. Elsewhere, it is bordered by the sea. England is named after the Angles, one of a number of Germanic tribes originating in Angeln in Northern Germany, who settled there in the 5th and 6th centuries. Although sometimes it is mistakenly thought of (and confused) as the United Kingdom, England is merely one country making up that "collection". England's largest city, London, is also the capital of the United Kingdom.
